“The Resurrectionists”
Some call them ‘body snatchers.’ Some call them ghouls. Widow, Maggie Delaney, a once Irish indentured servant, and Ould Badger, the leader of an underground gang that supplies doctors and medical schools with cadavers for study, prefer to be called Resurrectionists. Maggie asserts that “It is a noble profession.”
In the 1800’s in England and the colonies, resurrectionists provided bodies for doctors and medical students in order to study anatomy, a benefit for anyone needing medical treatment.
