CCGS Receives $1,000 Grant

CCGS Receives $1,000 Grant

The Clay County Genealogical Society was recently the recipient of a $1,000 check presented by Ryan Keller to Vice-President Rhonda Tincher.  In celebration of the Wabash Valley Community Foundation’s 30th Anniversary, each of the board members had an opportunity to recommend a $1,000 grant to the nonprofit of their choice within their county.

The CCGS was selected by Ryan Keller, Board Member of the Clay County Community Foundation, an affiliate of the Wabash Valley Community Foundation. The Clay County Genealogical Society is a non-profit organization run by volunteers.  The Society’s only guaranteed income is a yearly $3,000 check from the Clay County Board of Commissioners used to help with utilities’ expenses and insurance for the maintenance of the Clay County Genealogy Library located in Center Point.

Use of the vast library resources is free to the public.  There are trained genealogy research volunteers available on Mondays and Wednesdays from 10:00 to 4:00 and on the first and third Saturdays from 10:00 to 4:00.  To visit the library at any other time, contact a volunteer during operating hours at 812-835-5005, and arrangements can be made to visit at another time.
