Research
Request Guidelines
Volunteers will do research for you at the Library. Please use
the research outline below to ensure a reply from us. You can
contact us via US mail at the address below or you can e-mail
the CCGSI
Library to request research.
Research requests may take up to 6 weeks to process so please be
patient. All of our research is done entirely by volunteers at
the library. Email requests that do not follow the guidelines
will not be answered promptly. When using US mail you should
include all information that you need and mail it along with a
large SASE to speed up the inquiry. If your research request is
submitted by e-mail you will be charged additional fees for
handling and postage.
Fees for research are $10.00 per hour; there will be a charge of
$0.15 for photocopies of information in the library. There is a
fee of $10.00
each for birth, marriage, and death records.
If only records are requested, the hourly charge will be
waived. Other
charges may apply for official document copying, court house
visits and mailing. . More detailed information about research
is available by e-mail if you are unsure about the fees.
To help us
complete your research request please use the following outline
as a guide as to what to include in your request. Please supply
as much information as possible.
- Name of person
- List the first, middle, and last name of the person you are requesting information
about.
- Place of residence.
- List the town, township, and county where this person resided.
- Time frame
- List the dates relating to your request.
- Information you are requesting
- Indicate Birth, Marriage, Wills, Death, or other miscellaneous information.
- Miscellaneous Information
- Please include any information you think will help us in the research.
- Your information...REQUIRED
- Include your name, address, city, state, zip code, and email address.

sending email to the Library always include the word research
in the subject header. We might miss your very important
message without it. You
can also stop in at the Library to request research, get
help with your family files, or just to visit a while.
We are located in Center Point, Indiana and our hours
are M-W-Sat from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Other times can be
arranged by contacting the Library prior to your visit.
