Cardonia School
Donated by Tamie Dehler

Above is a group picture of the students and teachers at the Cardonia School. Juanita NAVIN is in the top row of girls, the third one over from the woman teacher. Cecil MURPHY is in the second row of sitting boys, to the right of the 3 boys wearing caps. He has dark hair and has his hand on his chin. The woman teacher on the top row, far left, is Blanche BOOTES. The girl in the first row of standing girls, 5th from left, is Tamszion JACOBS. According to Travis (History of Clay County 1909) and others, the school was located near the northeast corner at the crossroads of Murphy Ave. and the Rio Grand Road.
